Remembering Paul Albrechtsen

July 18th  —  2019

Paul Albrechtsen, our Founder and President, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, July 7th.  We all mourn his loss.

To most of us at Paul’s Hauling, Paul was first and foremost a visionary business leader, who at one point led the 6th largest trucking conglomerate in Canada comprising over 1,100 tractors and several thousand trailers.  To others, he was a father, grandfather, brother, husband, friend or a generous philanthropist who positively impacted the health prospects of many Manitobans through his significant donations to the Health Sciences Centre, Cancer Care Manitoba, St. Boniface Hospital, The Reh-Fit Centre and Riverview Health Centre, to name a few.

As employees, you probably know that Paul’s Hauling was Paul’s first and last corporate venture in life, spanning 62 years under his guidance.  Throughout, he has been a fair and generous employer.  Those of you senior enough will recall his speeches at the Driver of the Year and/or Christmas dinners – something he stressed over, but in the end always managing to deliver an inspiring message sprinkled with his ever-present excellent sense of humour.

He will be deeply missed by all.
